Julie Wohlberg
Founder | Certified Planner & Florist, Owner of Events By Paradise
I’ve never been particularly big on formal bios. I got my start in the B2B tech space back in the Stone Ages, when MySpace was king and Facebook was still only accepting members with .edu addresses. My professional background includes a focus on disruptive tech, with my largest client being Fotolia (now owned by Adobe Stock), a microstock photography company that went toe to toe with the traditional stock photo giants. I guess you could say I know my way around disrupting traditional business models and streamlining affordable solutions for small business owners.
I left the tech sector to work on marketing and events when my son was born, and after my divorce, I started working on weddings and events as a side job. In 2020, I jumped full force into everyday florals and eventually built a nice business for myself managing just event florals and planning. In addition to this, I’m in the midst of launching a consumer eComm site offering brides DIY flower kits (BespokeBloomKits.com).
In addition to my teenage son, I’m ruled by two Golden marshmallows and our pack alpha, a Cavalier King Charles. When I’m not working, I’m probably feeding, petting, or attending to one of them. I also recently discovered Tik Tok, and occasionally post videos correcting the techniques shared as “I learned this from a florist” hacks.

Kat Newman
Wholesale Relationships Manager | Owner of Ceremonies By Kat
Kat and I first met in the Florida Keys at the wedding of a client of ours. As a coordinator, I always love hanging out at the back of a ceremony and watching how the vows and details unfold. It’s one of those fly on the wall experiences we rarely get to see as florists. At this particular wedding, a sun shower came out of nowhere AS the bride was walking down the aisle. While the venue staff and I stood in the background, horrified, and the venue coordinator bolted to the reception space to cover the tables, I saw Kat own the moment, confirm with the bride that they were moving forward, and then proceed to keep all of the guests laughing and cheering through the rain. No one seemed to notice that they were getting soaked – she was that engaging.
I’ve had the privilege of working with Kat numerous times since then, and I’m always struck by her warmth and attention to detail, as well as the care she takes in getting to know each of her couples. When I started working on this site, I couldn’t picture anyone else that I would trust more to help me manage inquiries and orders than her. So while she is not *technically* a florist, she is a wedding vendor who is very much involved in the details of the day, and her level of organization and ability to recall details makes her a valuable asset to this growing idea. I’ve asked her to share a bio with me – but I wait for nothing, and I love sharing that story.
